Return of Henry

This week Thierry Henry one of Arsenal's greatest players returned to the club on a 2 month loan.He had been playing in the US with the New York Red Bulls ,but has returned because the season over there is on a break.

Arsenal 125 Years

This week Arsenal celebrated the 125th year of when the club started.This was marked with the game against Everton on the 10th December 2011.Arsenal won 1-0 with captain Robin Van Persie scoring the only goal.Before the game past players and managers were welcomed back to the stadium.


Outside the stadium ,statues where reveiled of 3 of arsenals greatest players and manager.

  • The statues where of: 
Thierry Henry - Player.
Tony Adams - Player.
Herbert Chapman - Manager.

The unveiling  of the statues on the Friday, brought Theirry Henry to tears.


The club also made new jerseys this year with a new crest,the crest has the first moto of the club 'forward' and shows the year arsenal started.

Where The Players Come From

Arsenal football club is based in England but there players come from all around the world.New signings have brought in German,Japanese and Spanish players just this year.Arsenal only have 5 English players in there whole first team squad which is surprising because they are an English team.


Robin Van Persie is the captain of the arsenal team he only became captain this season after the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona.He is a striker and so far has been a key player for the team this season, scoring over 50% of the goals for the whole team.

Where The Club Is Based

Arsenal football club is based in London. The stadium is on the Queensland Rd, Islington, Greater London.The club moved to the stadium in 2006 from there old stadium in Highbury only a 5 minute walk from the new Emirates stadium.

  • 1,800 jobs were created.
  • 2,000 new houses were built.
  • The stadium site is 17 acres.
The Arsenal training ground is in Hertfordshire, 45 minutes from the Emirates stadium.The ground has 10 full grass pitches, an indoor astro pitch,6 changing rooms, a gym,swimming pool,ice bath and a restaurant.
